Every year it's fun to see which recipes have become more popular and which ones have fallen down the ranks a bit. I remember when I only had ONE decent recipe (my French Fries) and they didn't even make my top 10 list last year. So what did?
Here are my Top 10 Best Of BNV Recipes for 2019.
Here we go, we'll start with #10 and work our way up to the #1 BNV Recipe of 2019.
Ready? Let's do this.
Oh and be sure and comment which one(s) are your favorites!
Top 10 Best of BNV Recipes for 2019
These are ALWAYS popular around the Holidays. I won't lie, they do take a fair amount of work, but oh man - are they ever good.
My personal favorite. People are STILL entering this chili in chili-cookoffs all over the country, and winning! And yes, I have the trophy pics to prove it! If this can win a Texas Competition, well as the late, great Stan Lee used to say.... "'Nuff said".
This is a big surprise this year. Kabobs? Really? Top 10?! But Google Analytics doesn't lie, so... I remember I purposely bought my big charcoal grill just so I could have some summertime grilling recipes. Nice to see it was money well spent.
This was simply an Instant Pot adaptation of my already popular Hearty Vegetable Stew. I loved Beef Stew as a kid so I knew I had to make a healthier version once I became Vegan.
#6. Easy New Mexican Red Chile Sauce
I'm not really surprised this is up here. I LOVE THIS SAUCE! I lived in ABQ for 10 years and developed an absolute love for their Hatch Red and Green Chiles. Add a cold Margarita and some Balloons flying overhead...... a perfect day.
#5. Best Damn Instant Pot Chili
Speaking of chili.... that's chili with an 'i' which is the spicy Texas bean style chili, not chile with an 'e' which is the pepper plant. Again, no surprise as this is just an Instant Pot adaptation of my already popular stovetop version I listed above.
You knew they had to be on here, didn't you? SO many comments from happy wives who have successfully introduced plant-based eating to their carnivore husbands with this recipe. Yes, it's cauliflower. No, you cannot taste it. It's just good. Make some.
#3. Amazing Vegan Cheese Sauce
It's creamy, it's gooey, it's delicious on Macaroni .... and it's made from Potatoes & Carrots. Is cheese still your guilty pleasure? Then try this sauce. Some people love it, and some people hate it, but personally? Like that famous hot sauce.... I put this $%# on everything!
I know, people laugh when I mention my Carrot Dogs. But then they taste them and the look of shock on their faces lol .... PRICELESS. And did I mention they were mentioned in THIS ARTICLE from Newsweek? Yeah, kind of proud.
Before I reveal my #1 recipe of 2019, I'd like to take a few moments to recognize some honorable mentions.
My very first viral recipe was my Crispy Oven Baked Fat-Free French Fries.
I remember I had not been blogging very long and had placed an app on my phone that showed me how many people were visiting my site at any point in time. And I thought it was broken because there were SO MANY people lol. And that photo! It was taken with my old Galaxy Note 4 Smartphone! But people love that picture (and my fries) so I have left the pic up on the recipe.
And finally, my biggest NON-RECIPE link to date showed up in the #15 spot. And NONE of my articles have ever done that before.
Of course, that link is to the article I wrote explaining What Is a Mary's Mini.
I wrote it to try and bring ALL of the different pieces of information I had found regarding Dr, McDougall's Mary's Mini Diet to one central location. I had the opportunity to talk to Dr. McD and his wife Mary and they were both surprised so many people are still interested in it! Well, Dr. McD - it works, that's why. The original potato reset.
And the #1 Best of BNV Recipe for 2019 is??? {drum roll please}
Again with an original smartphone pic. One of these days I'm going to update it. 🙂
Google 'veggie stew' in your favorite browser and this recipe will pop up in the #1 slot, which probably explains why it gets so many views.
I'm just happy to see so many of you have the same taste in food as I do. Good chili, a hearty stew, a spicy sauce with some cheese to go on my potatoes. Yum.
Thanks, everyone for an incredible 2019 and I can't wait to see what kind of yumminess will be here next year.
Lookout 2020.
Here come us Vegans, and boy are we HUNGRY!

Chuck, I love your website! I recommend it to patients because I can assure them the recipes are relatively easy, some are "comfort food," and they don't involve oil. Thank you so much, and on a personal level, thank you for the delicious potato-leek soup recipe. I have made it twice in as many weeks!
